Antec has developed system solutions for the on-line analysis of neurotransmitters in microdialysates. If high throughput is an issue the system can be used to analyse 3 microdialysis stations in parallel. Microdialysis systems are optimised for analysis of small sample volumes at picomolar detection limits. The same system can be configured for high time resolution analysis as well, using a different (14 port) valve.

System configuration

For the analysis of microdialysates we selected the VT03 electrochemical cell. This cell not only has an excellent reproducibility but also the best possible detection sensitivity. The ALEXYS systems comprise the following parts:

• LC 110S HPLC pump
• OR 110 organiser rack
• Clarity data acquisition software
• DECADE II electrochemical detector, TCC (triple channel)
• VT cells with GC WE, salt bridge
• Valco external valve(s)
